A personal bucket list thing, a tour of Australia.
As a spotter, especially since the cool addition of the map showing where you found spots, a fun challenge to find spot-worthy cars in as many places as possible and discover Australia's gems.
The journey began in the north-east of Australia in Brisbane. Here, like everywhere else in Australia, there is a nice mix of cars driving around. An alternation of European, American and many Holdens. The amount of spot-worthy cars was a bit disappointing. This is also because the city is fairly made for the future with many skyscrapers and accompanying enclosed car parks. This made finding spot-worthy cars on the streets a bit more difficult, although in the end I managed to find quite a few spots. You can also see that the owners of spot-worthy cars in Australia are real enthusiasts, as most of them do something extra. Some choose an eye-catching colour or a cool set of rims, while others opt for a personal number plate.

However, to my surprise, a local car museum had just opened its doors with some gems. Like a Ferrari F40, but also a Countach LP400s originally delivered in Australia with a nice story attached. The story goes that the first owner had a Lamborghini Espada on order. Its delivery kept getting delayed. When he was told he could finally pick up his Espada in the late 1970s, the owner chose to do so at the factory. It was then that the owner was also shown a preview of the updated Lamborghini Countach, the LP400s. He was so impressed by this beautiful machine, he ordered one on the spot. Thus, this early model of the Countach found its way to Australia. On the way back from the museum, I passed the local Porsche dealer by accident and to my surprise, one of my dream cars, the Carrera GT, was suddenly in the showroom window. This one was there purely for demonstration and was also not for sale. Although the price tag of a Carrera GT is also becoming bizarre.
During the road trip from Brisbane to Sydney, we made several stops. Mainly the Gold Coast area surprised me with the amount of spots, like Surfers Paradise and Coolangatta I found some nice spots like this purple Ute.

Eventually, the trip ended in Sydney where you can literally grab a spot anywhere throughout the city. Although there is a specific district where most spots come from, namely the Double Bay district. Known already from the many combo uploads by other spotter Pigeon.spots.cars
On Saturday afternoon, I went to Sydney's spotting area, namely Double Bay. On Saturday I already came across some nice spots. After talking to some local spotters, I was told that Sunday morning is the best time for top spots in Double Bay, as that is when a number of supercar owners always meet for breakfast and start any cruises. I also heard that a local Senna owner had picked up a new toy that week. A McLaren Senna LM and that when this man has a new toy, he always comes to show the new toy to friends on Sunday morning.

Furthermore, the weekend yielded many other spots such as several Lamborghinis, Ferraris and Aston Martins. There are many classics and youngtimers still driving around Australia. In Sydney, for instance, I even found some spot-worthy classics like a Jensen Interceptor, an Aston Martin DB4 and a Ford Mustang Shelby GT500 Eleanor.
So there will be many more spots to follow from downunder Australia.
